We are the first and only organization exclusively dedicated to interventional and therapeutic endoscopists in the United States.

FITE is a unique foundation solely focused on disease-based applications and the creation of standards around training and utilization of therapeutic endoscopy in order to best serve patients through minimally invasive endoscopic interventions.
Any professional with clinical expertise and/or research or clinical interest in therapeutic endoscopy can join FITE. We encourage applications from therapeutic endoscopy clinicians, advanced endoscopy trainees, GI fellows, Internal Medicine residents, medical school students, allied health professionals, and industry personnel to join this foundation.

What are the benefits of FITE membership?
Active members:
- Hold positions as committee members, committee chairpersons, and executive committee positions

Who is eligible for Active Membership?
Licensed to practice medicine in his/her state, province, or country, and completed a categorical fellowship in Gastroenterology (or equivalent) and a 12-month fellowship in Advanced Endoscopy or equivalent training recognized by FITE, or completed a categorical fellowship in Gastroenterology recognized by FITE and have additional training in interventional and therapeutic endoscopy recognized by FITE.
Application must include dates and location of training, as well as documentation of completion of advanced training (completion certificate or a letter from the training director describing the program and attesting to the physician’s competencies). This category of applicant without a formal 12-month fellowship in advanced endoscopy must be conferred by the executive board (majority vote), at the recommendation of the membership committee.
Who is eligible for Affiliate Membership?
An actively practicing health care provider (e.g. physician in an allied medical field, nurse, technologist, other) with a focus or interest in interventional and therapeutic endoscopy; or a student in a medical school, Internal Medicine Residency, or Gastroenterology Fellowship.
To be considered: provide a letter of support from an active FITE member, and provide a letter of support from his/her department chair, division director, employer, or supervisor describing the candidate’s interests as they pertain to interventional and therapeutic endoscopy and support the mission of FITE. *Nonvoting member.
Who is eligible for Trainee Membership?
Advanced Endoscopy Fellowship trainee (or international equivalent program) with an interest in interventional and therapeutic endoscopy, and provide a letter of support from an active FITE member.
Who is eligible for Honorary Membership?
A status that may be conferred by the executive board (majority vote) at the recommendation of the membership committee regarding an individual not in active clinical practice nor a trainee.
This is reserved for members who have made contributions to the field of interventional and therapeutic endoscopy and maintain an interest in supporting the mission of FITE.
Who is eligible for International Chapter Membership?
Licensed to practice medicine in his/her state, province, or country, and not licensed to practice in the United States; and completed a categorical fellowship in Gastroenterology (or equivalent) and a 12-month fellowship in Advanced Endoscopy or equivalent training recognized by FITE, or completed a categorical fellowship in Gastroenterology recognized by FITE and have additional training in interventional and therapeutic endoscopy recognized by FITE.
Application must include dates and location of training, as well as documentation of completion of advanced training. This category of applicant without a formal 12-month fellowship in advanced endoscopy must be conferred by the executive board (majority vote), at the recommendation of the membership council and governing board.

How long does it take to become a member?
Applications are reviewed by the membership committee. Membership acceptances may take up to 4 weeks for approval.
I submitted the application, am I a member now?
Applications are reviewed by the membership committee. You will be contacted by email once your application has been approved.
What is 'My Library'?
After you have signed up as a member, you will be able to login into the Members' only area. My Library contains the links to various training courses, On-Demand option, On-Call option and our Scope Central forum.
What is Circle?
FITE has its own community board and forum hosted by the Circle app. In the Circle app, you will be able to:
- Post discussions with fellow endoscopists or industry personnel or patients
- On-Call (seek expert advice/consult)
- On-Demand (videos on demand)
- Upload news or videos
- Access member-exclusive announcements and freebies
